H. E. Mohammed Al Khasibi

His Excellency Mohammed Nasser Al Khasibi


His Excellency Mohammed Al Khasibi is the Chairman of the Telecommunication Regulatory Authority and is at the same time the Secretary General of the Ministry of National Economy.

He started his career by joining the Public Service with the Royal Court. Afterwards, he moved to work with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Private Secretary to the Minister, where he progressed in his career until he was promoted to the rank of Counsellor in 1982. In the same year he moved to the Ministry of Finance and Economy and was appointed Director of the office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Financial & Economic Affairs, and in 1988, he was promoted to Secretary General of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Financial & Economic Affaires, with the rank of Undersecretary. In December 1995, he was appointed Secretary General of the Ministry of National Economy with the rank of Minister, where he assists the Minister of National Economy in running this Ministry and in implementing some of the functions of the Ministry of Finance. Besides, H. E The Minister is also, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Information Technology Authority. And Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Public Authority for Electricity and Water, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Petroleum Development of Oman and Deputy Chairman of Oman Gas Company. He is also a Member of the Board of Governors of the Central Bank of Oman, Research Council, Member of the Ministerial Committee for Industrial Free Zones, and Board Member of Oman Oil Company.

In addition, H. E Mohammed Al-Khasibi chairs the Tax Appeal Committee, and the advisory Committee for National Statistics. He also chairs the Omani side in the Omani-Turkish Joint Committee, and the Omani-Pakistani Joint Committee. He also presides over Omani delegations to some of the regular meetings of the Ministers of Finance and Economy within the GCC and the Arab League, and represents the Sultanate in relevant regional and international meetings. His previous participation as Chairman and Board member of various public joint stock companies includes Bank Muscat, Oman National Insurance co., Areej vegetable oils co., Oman Textile Mills co. Oman Securities Portfolio and Oman Tourist co.

H. E was awarded the Medal of Oman order class 3 in 1980, the British third class of the order of Saint Michael and Saint George (CMG) in 1982 and the Medal of Oman order class 2 in 2000.
