The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) of the Sultanate of Oman was established under the Telecom Regulatory Act issued by the Royal Decree 30/2002 to regulate the Telecommunication Sector of the Sultanate of Oman. The Oman country-code top-level domain (.om ccTLD) falls under the TRA’s jurisdiction as referred in article (8-10) repeated in the Telecom Regulatory Act.

TRA seeks through the Public Consultation paper which is published in TRA website, written comments from interested parties, network operators and the public on the "Domain Name Policy Framework".
