The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority has issued a decision approving the Guide of Services Subject to the Annual Fee imposed on Postal Service Providers, pursuant to the Postal Services Regulation Act promulgated by Royal Decree No. 71/2012, its Executive Regulations, and the relevant decisions.
The Guide covers a wide range of services subject to the annual fee, including domestic and international mail of various types, parcels and express shipments within specified weight limits, last-mile services, traditional and digital post boxes, and financial services provided through the postal network. The Guide also identifies services that are not subject to the annual fee, such as independent sea, air, and land transport activities, certain storage and customs clearance services, cash-on-delivery services, and other logistics activities that fall outside the scope of the postal definition.
The Guide aims to clarify the scope of services falling under the annual fee framework and to facilitate compliance by service providers with the payment of applicable fees in accordance with the approved legal frameworks.
This step forms part of the Authority’s ongoing efforts to regulate the postal services market and to establish the related financial frameworks in line with sector developments.
