Telecommunications Regulatory Authority Hosts Telecom and Technology Forum for the Business Sector
The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, in collaboration with Ericsson, hosted the Telecom and Technology Forum for the Business Sector, with the participation of specialists from both public and private sectors. The forum aimed to highlight the regulatory and technical frameworks that support the expansion of private 5G networks and advance digital and industrial transformation.
The forum featured several key themes, including opportunities in industrial digital transformation, digital transformation in airports and ports, as well as digital transformation in the oil and gas sector and the manufacturing industry.

Telecommunications Regulatory Authority Wins Best Entity Achieving Government IT Compliance
The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority has won the award for Best Entity Achieving Government Compliance in the field of Information Technology as part of the Government Digital Excellence – Second Edition 2025.
The Authority was honored during the fourth edition of the “Together Forward” Forum, organized by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers to enhance communication between the government and the society. The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology announced the winners of the second edition of the Government Digital Excellence Award 2025 during a ceremony held under the patronage of H.E. Saeed bin Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Saqri, Economic Advisor at the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs.

Telecommunications Regulatory Authority Publishes Market Indicators Report for Telecom and Postal sectors (2020–2024)
The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority has published the Market Indicators Report for the telecom and postal sectors covering the period (2020–2024). Among the key highlights of the report are total telecom sector revenues exceeding OMR 4.11 billion, total investments amounting to OMR 1.2 billion, and mobile subscriptions reaching 6.354 million. The report also recorded total revenues from domestic and international postal services of OMR 110 million, with total domestic and international postal items reaching 22.4 million.
Over the five-year period, 5G base stations witnessed a growth rate of 957%, increasing from 554 stations in 2020 to 5,856 stations in 2024. Meanwhile, total fiber-optic subscriptions rose from 161,119 subscriptions in 2020 to 327,015 subscriptions in 2024, reflecting a growth rate of 103%.
