Public consultation on Regulatory Framework for Active Mobile Networking Sharing Agreements
Introduction
Acknowledging the globally increasing
trend towards MNOs sharing parts of their active network infrastructure, where this
growth in the popularity of active network sharing has been driven by a number
of factors. Furthermore, from a regulatory perspective, network sharing can
give rise to both positive and negative effects on the Omani market. Therefore,
the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) drafted the Regulatory Framework for Active Mobile Networking Sharing Agreements
that would allow the TRA to assess proposed active network sharing
agreements between mobile network operators (MNOs) in Oman. This framework considers
both international best practice and the existing regulatory and legal
framework governing the Omani telecommunications sector.
TRA invite all stakeholders to
participate by providing written remarks and opinions on the proposed framework
and to answer the listed questions.
